Next season's show is based on the animated film Oliver & Co (1988). We'll retain the film's inspiration from the well-known novel Oliver Twist and delve into the world of (street) dogs and cats.

Roles:

Everyone will play an animal: a dog or a cat. You'll then be assigned to a specific acting group. We have four groups:

  • The street dogs (rebellious and playful)
  • The posh dogs (snobbish and arrogant)
  • The famous jazz cats (relaxed and cool)
  • The Sykes gang (criminals)

You can indicate your preference for a specific group, and this will be taken into account as much as possible. However, we will ensure a fair distribution of the animal groups in the AJM groups. This means that the production group and preparatory group B will be divided among the street dogs, posh dogs, and jazz cats. The actors from the production group will train longer and will help the actors from preparatory group B. We will base the group assignments on your talents, qualities, and character traits. Preparatory group A will most likely be deployed as the Sykes gang.

Music:

The music we'll be using will be a combination of the film's music and pop songs from the 80s and 90s. You can already hear some of these songs in the audition song list.

The dogs and cats love music. They also have their own favorite genres. For example, the street dogs love rock music, the poop dogs love formal and classical music, and the jazz cats, of course, love jazz. Music will play a major role in the performance. This year, in addition to singers and actors, we're also looking for instrumentalists: drummers, guitarists, pianists, etc.

Parents! Have you always wanted to be in a theater production? Now you can! And it doesn't even take much time. We're specifically looking for parents or other family members who can play the saxophone, trumpet, and double bass. Register for free!
