Audition

The audition for the Junior Production Group takes place on Wednesday, September 2. Please note: this is a different location from the rehearsal space. The audition will be held at the venue on the WG-terrein. If you pass the audition, you can join the Junior Production Group and become part of the 2026–2027 cast!

Rehearsals start the following week at the Meneer de Wit location.

Audition

The audition consists of two parts: 

• Vocal audition (solo)
• Acting audition (dialogue)
  
  

Vocal audition

For the vocal audition, choose a song from the list. Instrumental backing tracks are available for the songs on this list. Make sure you not only know the song by heart but can also convey its story through your stage presence.

Acting audition

For the acting audition, you will perform a scene involving dialogue. Make sure you know both roles thoroughly by heart. This demonstrates that you are well-prepared and capable of memorizing lines for the production.
You might be asked to play just one of the two roles during the audition, or you might play both; the choice is not necessarily based on a specific reason.

You can download the scene below. Make sure you prepare both scenes and both roles. During the audition, you will be paired with a scene partner.

What you need for the audition:

• Sing your song from memory.

• Memorize the acting scene and deliver it slowly, loudly, and clearly.

• Presence and energy!

Tips for the audition:

• Make sure you are well prepared. Often, most nerves stem from wondering whether you know the material well enough.
• Choose a song that suits your voice. Usually, this is a song you find yourself singing often.
• Sing at full volume while practicing, just as if you were already on stage.
• Make sure you have the scene memorized at least a week before the audition. Practice out loud, too, so you can experiment with how you deliver certain lines. Extra tip: practice with someone playing the other role.
• Consider what your character wants in the scene. What is happening? What is the problem? How does your character feel about it?
• We aren't here to judge you; we are here to support you and bring out the best in you. We want to hear and see you.
  
• Prepare well and do your best during the audition. That is often enough.
